K9 Deputy Adam Gibson

End of Watch: January 18, 2021

The First Responder Whiskey Society selected the stave flavor profile for this whisky, considering K9 Deputy Adam Gibson’s preferences and tastes in whiskey.
We met with his wife, Rachel, and learned about his love for sweeter whiskies like Jack Daniel’s and Maker’s Mark and foods like apple pie.
The stave profiles selected for this barrel were 2 Baked American Pure, 2 Maker’s Mark 46, and 6 Roasted French Mendiant.  The Baked American Pure added brown sugar, caramel, and apple pie notes.  The Maker’s Mark 46 staves are French oak, adding a rich, more dense, and savory texture to the whisky.  Finally, the Roasted French Mendiant staves are Maker’s Mark’s newest wood flavoring staves, replacing its previous Roasted French Mocha.  These new staves bring a full-bodied milk chocolate texture and flavor that explodes in your mouth and makes for a fantastic drinking experience.
This whisky barrel completely sold out in less than 20 hours!  The proceeds from the charity were sent to Adam’s family via the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Star 6 Foundation.
